REALIZING SOMETHING

So I totally had a flashback, and remembered about 5 yrs. ago or so Xanga was the "facebook" back then and that is totally blogging! I guess I contradict myself saying i'm not into blogging, because back then I clearly remember i was OBSESSED. My friends making backgrounds for me and knowing all the url codes, I guess i'll just pretend its Xanga and update the interesting facts that happens in my life...if anyone does care that is.

MOD 8

Take a look at OBEY's SUMMER 2010 COLLECTION

My review on it:
Main colors are plaid, tie dye, black, gray, and navy blue.
The clothes definitely looks like its ready for summer! I like how they advertise it by putting BRIGHT backgrounds in the back. For the women, they have included 2 rompers and loose fitting clothes. For the men, t-shirts loose fitting tanks and comfy plaid shirts. I really like the men's t-shirts, I think I would even buy it and where it as an oversized shirt with a cute skinny belt and shorts or something like that.

OBEY's main customers ranges from teens to adults maybe in their early 30's. OBEY has been around since the adults in their 30's were teenagers. The customers they target are also liberal, opinionated, and artsy. OBEY is using its market opportunities to connect with customers. OBEY is into charity programs. Right now if you purchasing a certain item, you are directly supporting the OBEY AWARENESS program. The whole point why they launched OBEY AWARENESS is to educate the posse and generate funding for causes that they are involved in. Some charities that are affiliated with OBEY AWARENESS are HAITI, which is a common one right now ; ADOPT-A-PET which is the pet over populating crisis resulting in over 4 million adoptable animals being killed each year in the U.S., for no fault of their own. OBEY is doing this to spread the word about the importance of saving a life by adopting.

MOD 4

Right now for Sprint 2010, OBEY has collaborated with Philadelphia artist Bill McRight. Bill is known for his intricate linoleum carvings and prints as well as his prison style shivs. When OBEY does collaboration, I think they do an excellent job! You can tell its OBEY, but with a twist.

What OBEY does to promote OBEY is special events they hold, and I think that's important. At special events brands can show the consumers what they are all about!! They can show that by doing fashion shows, short films, art work, having bands play music.

Mod. 3


I just looked up their latest clothing....I think they're "in" with the trends, but they make it their own signature, meaning they have loose clothing and rompers, but you can tell its OBEY.

Some of the marketing they do to make OBEY successful are: they publicize funds to raise money for charity cases, such as haiti and they create art and sell it from upcoming artists. OBEY sells merchandise with their charity case on it. OBEY is known to the skating scene but also is in with fashion. The magazines I read such as NYLON to Skateboard Magazine, I will always see an OBEY ad no matter what magazine I am reading.

Even though in my head OBEY is well known, not everyone knows about it. Maybe if they see the giant sticker which is OBEY's logo they people might recognize it just because the giant sticker is EVERYWHERE , I think OBEY needs to find other options to market their brand. They really don't need to, I think they are doing well in business and succeeding.
